LA Metro Profiles

I've been riding the LA Metro a lot in the past couple years. The more I ride, the more I'm convinced that some of the most interesting, hip and cool people in LA are taking it too. They do interesting things, they look good, and they save money and gas! What's not to like?

I caught sight of Josh Leonard at the Wilshire and Western Metro Station the other night. I really liked his look –sort of a surfer/rocker - so stopped to have a chat. Josh hasn't been in LA that long having recently moved out here from Michigan. But he's already familiarized himself with the Metro system; he uses it regularly to commute from his downtown day job with a moving company to his Hollywood home (Good for you Josh!). Josh also has a band, Lady Jack – he plays drums. What with his day job and his band, it might seem like Josh is too busy for hobbies, but he's a skater as well. And he generously shared his opinions about the LA Metro and his unique sense of style.

Liz/EO: What do you like best about the LA Metro?
Josh: It's really cheap to ride (only $1.25 a ride) and is a pretty quick way to get around. I can get everywhere I need to go.

Liz/EO: Anything you dislike?
Josh: Sometimes there are unexpected delays. The other day the train waited around.

Liz/EO: You've got a great sense of style. I like your belt and your bandana. Want to tell us something about that?
Josh: I'm in my work get up now. [Because] I'm a musician, the way I dress mixes the music and culture I like.

Liz/EO: You pose really well!
Josh: I've posed for music stuff.
