I would like to know how efficient cooking oil is for cars and trucks, motor homes? I've heard so much about it and wonder if it is as good as they claim? What are the pros and cons?

I have a friend who runs his Ford F350 diesel pick up truck and his diesel mercedes exclusively on cooking oil that he obtains from local pubs and restaurants and in Johnstown, PA. He takes the used oil and filters it and then adds a couple things to get the "weight" right before he puts it in his vehicles. He has been doing this for several years. Currently his biggest obstacle is getting enough oil because the major chains are now sending their oil out to be "cleaned" so they can reuse it. We don't own and diesel vehicles so I have not investigated this any further but he is very happy with it!
